Oh Yeah!

So I finally got 1280x800 resolution (ie: native res) working on my Dell 700m Notebook. So I wrote up a little guide on how I got the harder things working. You can find it at The 700m Page I have just finished building.

So I got a little bored, and I don't have a single distraction over here .. so I rebuilt the blogging stuff.

The archives are a little broken, but I doubt anyone else will notice. heh.

You'll note that blog entries now have permalinks - click the heading of an article to see why that's useful.

Yep, you can now link diretly to blog articles rather than just to a month.

One of the serious things I've been thinking about is the whole New Orleans thing..

When I heard about the hurricane I remember thinking "wow, an evacuation order?", but I assumed it was one of those things which happened all the time, and I'd never noticed. I can remember walking past a TV as they mentioned the evacuation order and thinking "wow, that's like in a movie they do that thing where the main character happens to walk past a TV with details which will only become relevant later.

You know, foreshadowing, like those paper things people had before the internet

And then, two? three? days later, when I finally stop travelling and had real media again .. I found out that something HAD come of that warning. It just didnt directly affect my little movie.
